Researchers report the development of lithium-ion batteries with 30 times more power and the ability to recharge 1,000 times faster than competing technologies. The team at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign says a credit-card-thin phone could be charged in less than a second. Timeframe is one to two years.
