Automotive
Client: A large auto dealership with several locations in Pennsylvania and Maryland.
Challenge: To improve the efficiency, quality and cost-effectiveness of disparate legacy voice, data and Internet services.
Solution:
- Performed a complete telecom audit to create a comprehensive plan for reducing cost, gaining efficiency and enhancing capabilities and quality.
- Recommended and provisioned a consolidated MPLS network with superior QoS (quality of service) to replace multiple carriers with private lines between locations. Increased bandwidth and QoS supports new applications, VoIP between sites, increased efficiency and a business continuity backup system.
- Replaced a single source of Internet access from the corporate office for all locations with secure Internet gateways (cloud-based Internet) at all remote sites. This provided four times the bandwidth for all sites, eliminating congestion on the WAN.
- Implemented a failover backup system to avoid outages and maintain business continuity.
- Reduced long distance costs by routing intra-company calls via VoIP on the company-wide WAN.
- Consolidated all long distance and toll free services to one invoice with reduced corporate rates.
- Through proactive invoice management, obtained over $25,000 in unrealized credits, eliminated numerous small individual invoices and generated GL coding with detail by site for simplified accounting.
- Performed a complete line inventory at all locations, which facilitated migration of numerous legacy POTS lines to a much more efficient PRI service with added features like caller ID and DID functionality. Over 75 unnecessary POTS lines were eliminated.
Results: This comprehensive redesign and consolidation of the dealership’s telecom services saves nearly $100,000 annually, while significantly improving voice, data and Internet service.
