Security in the Cloud

While “the cloud” offers many benefits, businesses need to understand the security risks in order to mitigate them. Almost one quarter of all businesses globally are in the cloud according to Symantec. Of nearly 500 IT professionals surveyed by Intel, 46% reported that their companies had security breaches on public and related hybrid clouds. Symantec’s research showed that 43% of the businesses it surveyed lost data in the cloud.

Typically, cloud-based or hosted services have high-quality security, but there are some aspects of hosted data that they cannot control. Businesses need to take final responsibility for safeguarding their information to avoid being a victim of hackers, human error, system failures, sabotage and other issues. A robust, comprehensive security and backup plan is essential. More information.
