Verizon Wireless has announced that its app store will be closing next year, due to the broad availability of apps from other sources. Verizon will begin removing the Verizon Apps application from all compatible Android and Research in Motion devices starting in January, with completion estimated for the end of March. Most apps existing on Verizon Apps are already available on storefronts, such as Google PLAY, Amazon and BlackBerry® App World. Business apps submitted to Verizon’s Private Applications Store for Business will continue to be available for purchase and download to enterprise customers. More information.
